About

Welcome to Redeeming Asia! I am so glad you are here.

Redeeming Asia is the fruit of two summer-long trips to India, connections made with Christ-followers in several Asian countries, and a growing desire and clear call to serve God by ministering to the people of Asia.

I have long been drawn to this passage in Isaiah 61:1-3 which says,

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion—to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified” (ESV).

This is the heart of what those of us as Christians are called to do – to follow in the footsteps of Jesus proclaiming the good news of freedom from the bondage of sin and death, leading the world to the One who can redeem them.

And that is the heart of Redeeming Asia.

No matter what your story is, whether you are in need of encouragement, want to learn about Jesus Christ, are a follower of Jesus with a passion for sharing the Gospel with the unreached, or simply love learning about other cultures, this blog is for you.

I will be sharing words of encouragement from God’s Word, reflections on who Jesus is and how that is relevant to our lives, lessons I learn along my journey of preparing to serve the people of India and the surrounding countries, and amazing testimonies of how Jesus is transforming the lives of people in Asia.

In addition, I am planning to produce and curate resources for ministry leaders in Asia as well as church leaders around the world.

You are welcome to follow along on this journey of learning about God's work in Asia, with all of its challenges and joys! May His Name be lifted high among the nations!
